The automatic battery charger AW05-1208 from the “AUTO WELLE” brand is designed for all types of lead-acid starter batteries (WET, MF, AGM, and GEL) used in passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, motorcycles, as well as other vehicles and machinery. The integrated microprocessor ensures a fully automatic charging process. The charging cycle consists of 9 automatic stages.

Battery test. Checks for correct battery connection, condition (functional or damaged), and battery voltage before starting the charging process.
Desulfation. If it is detected that the battery plates are sulfated, a pulse voltage is activated. This can remove sulfates from the surface of the lead plates and restore battery capacity.
Soft start. Initial battery charging. If the battery is deeply discharged, the device begins a soft charging phase with reduced current and voltage until a normal voltage value is reached in the battery.
Bulk charge. The battery receives up to 75–80% of its charge during the main charging phase. The charger delivers the maximum charging current here.
Absorption. Charging with gradually decreasing current at constant voltage until 95–100% of the battery capacity is reached.
Reconditioning. This function prevents electrolyte stratification in highly charged batteries and enables the restoration of battery capacity.
Analysis. Checks the battery's ability to hold a charge. Batteries that cannot hold a charge should be replaced.
Charge to 100%. At a low current level, the voltage is increased to charge the battery to 100% of its capacity.
Maintenance charge. The battery is kept at 100% charge by periodically supplying reduced voltage. This mode is time-limited to 10 days.
Packaging – Cardboard packaging. LCD DISPLAY WITH BACKLIGHT: The backlit LCD display ensures comfortable use of the charger at any time of day. Next to the display are the power indicator, the error indicator (red if active), and the Mode selection button.
SLOW CHARGING MODE: For gel and lead-acid batteries. The charging process is performed at a reduced current of max. 2A and is controlled by the microprocessor.
FAST CHARGING MODE: For standard, gel, and lead-acid batteries. The charging process is performed in fast mode with max. 8A and is controlled by the microprocessor.
CHARGING AGM BATTERIES: The charging process is performed with a maximum current of 8A and is controlled by the microprocessor. The microprocessor evaluates the condition of the battery and adjusts the charging current and voltage accordingly. This enables particularly efficient battery charging and extends its service life.
RECONDITIONING MODE (DESULFATION): The device features a unique desulfation mode that restores battery capacity and thus extends its service life. A special recovery mode for deeply discharged batteries as well as batteries that have been left unused for a long time without recharging or after deep discharge.
BATTERY SUPPLY MODE: Supply mode with a constant voltage of 13.8V and current up to 5A to power the vehicle's onboard electronics during battery replacement (allows replacement of a defective battery without losing vehicle settings).
MEMORY FUNCTION: The device has a standby mode that it enters in the event of power interruptions or accidental disconnection of the power plug. The mode and charging status are stored in the charger's memory. Once power is restored, the charging process resumes from the point where it was interrupted.
MAXIMUM SAFE CHARGING: For maximum safety, the device includes the following protective features: protection against short circuits, protection against incorrect connection (reverse polarity), and protection against overheating (automatic switch to slow charging mode).
METAL HOOK: The housing features a foldable metal hook for hanging the device.
RUBBERIZED COVERS: The battery connection terminals are protected by rubberized covers.
